Arvind Kejriwal Victim of Political Conspiracy, Arrest Based on ‘Wrong Statement by a Witness’: Sunita

Sunita Kejriwal says PM Modi is politically driven behind the March 21 ED arrest of her husband Arvind relating to the 2021-22 excise policy. Revised on July 17, TDP MP Reddy's misleading allegation claims Kejriwal demanded Rs 100 crore. Sunita is under court custody right now and upholds honesty. Delhi BJP's Virendra Sachdeva supports the court and questions her comments.

NEW DELHI: Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of CM Arvind Kejriwal, has claimed that her husband suffers from political conspiracy victimization. She says a false statement by a witness supports his detention by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, connected to the 2021-22 excise policy.

Sunita claimed in a video message that false remarks made by TDP MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy resulted in the detention of her husband. She mentioned that shortly after his father's statement, Reddy's son Raghava Magunta Reddy—who was also arrested—was let off on bond.

Sunita noted that the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre includes the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). She charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi of aiming her husband and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) using ED and CBI.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI last month on similar charges and is presently under judicial custody. Sunita said Reddy altered his account of a meeting with Kejriwal following the denial of bail for his son. She contended that Kejriwal's demand of Rs 100 crore is unfounded and illogical.

Sunita described her husband as honest, educated, and patriotic and begged the people to share her video in favor of him. She cautioned that intelligent people would avoid politics depending on such treatment without public backing.

Sunita's remarks were attacked by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, who said she was spreading unfounded aspersions on the court. He underlined that the court grants bail and pardons; ED or other authorities have no say in this. Sachdeva further said that several pieces of evidence, not only Reddy's words, support the case against Kejriwal.

The circumstances draws attention to continuous political unrest as well as the convoluted legal fight Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party are engaged in.
